The SLA girls’ soccer team opened its playoff run in style on Monday, October 19, beating Carver High School of Engineering & Science 4-1 at home. Senior Katherine Diemer led the way with two goals and two assists with junior Atiya Gant and sophomore Carly Hogan adding a goal each. The goal scorers set the tone for a Rockets team that played with confidence and purpose from the opening whistle. Carver came in with a better record than the Rockets, but SLA controlled the match and never let E&S settle in.

The win was a true team effort, with the Rockets’ defense keeping Carver to a single goal and the attack finding the net from multiple angles. Congratulations to the players and coaches on a great win, and come out and cheer on the Rockets as they continue their playoff run!
