The SLA Boys Ultimate team started off with a strong showing at the Mercer Mayhem tournament in New Jersey last weekend. The boys – led by senior captain Sam Jenkins, junior Ian Owen-Riggan and sophomore Nati Roemer-Block – went two and one, beating Columbia HS and Westfield HS B team before losing 7-6 in the finals to Westfield HS A.
The team brought a huge squad – and twelve new players got their first ever taste of an Ultimate tournament. Freshman Sebastian Becker – in his first ever tourney – caught the game winning game in the semi-finals.
The Rockets travel back to New Jersey this weekend to play in the Fall Flock in Monclair, NJ. Go Rockets!
