Congratulations to the Girls Volleyball team on their first win against Northeast Philadelphia high school! Each player set the tone and standard for how great this upcoming season will be. Despite an injury for player Niya Petty, she was able to score points with solid hits and powerful serves. Newcomer Sophie Resuello was able to rise to the occasion, scoring five serves in a row and quickly adapting to the middle hitter position in place of Petty. Setter Amani Harb set every ball perfectly, and was also able to score five serves in a row. Team captain Simone Marant was capable of connecting outside hits that were impossible to receive. Meanwhile, new libero Emma April hustled for every ball, while Gia Torres was all-around strong, protecting every ball that we received. Alyssa Williams, despite a knee injury, was able to serve and receive with great strength. The girls hope to add onto their first win at E&S on Thursday, so come and cheer on the team! Let’s go Rockets!
