The Boys Ultimate team went 3-1 at the Wissahickon Warm-Up Tournament to start their season this past Sunday.
Despite the windy conditions, SLA showed off its considerable skill all day long, playing against teams from across the Delaware Valley. The team started strong with a 13-0 win over Wissahickon JV, and followed it up with a 11-10 win over Haverford HS and a 13-7 win over Springfield HS. The day ended with a 13-7 loss to the #22 team in the country – Strath Haven HS, and the Rockets battled throughout, keeping it close before tiring at the of the match.
SLA was led by senior co-captain Ian Owen-Riggan who led the D-line to some of its best play in recent memory and O-line standouts, junior Co-Captain Nati Roemer-Block, senior Co-Captain Azi Levites-Cohen, and sophomore Lev Weisenberg.
The team hopes to build on their success as they travel to the YULA invite in Northern Virginia this weekend, where they will square off against of the best teams in the nation.
